Kelsi Caywood is a mixed methods researcher of comparative gender inequality, family, and work in the United States and East Asia. She is a PhD candidate in Sociology at the University of Michigan and a predoctoral trainee at the U-M Population Studies Center.

Kelsi’s collaborative projects have examined topics including gender mainstreaming, young adulthood, and caregiving dynamics. This work has been published in the Journal of Global Health and Journal of Affective Disorders. Other papers from these collaborations have been invited to be revised and resubmitted.

Before her PhD studies, Kelsi was a research associate at Stanford University’s Walter H. Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from Yale University, an M.A. in China Studies (Law and Society) from Peking University, and an M.A. in International Policy from Stanford University.
